Hello, I'm Daria.
I am a cinematic photographer based in Zurich, documenting stories through a narrative and editorial lens.
My work is deeply inspired by cinema. A film is never presented to the audience as a collection of unedited scenes or raw footage - it is revealed only when the narrative is complete, color-graded, and carefully brought to life.
I approach every session with the exact same philosophy.
Authenticity Over Artificiality
I deliberately move away from rigid photo studios, harsh artificial strobes, and forced, unnatural posing. I believe that real emotion cannot be rehearsed.
My work thrives in natural daylight, authentic interior spaces, and the open atmosphere of outdoor locations. Instead of asking you to freeze and smile for the camera, I capture movement, quiet interactions, and the subtle atmosphere of the moment. It is about creating photos that feel like real life - only seen through a cinematic eye.
The Visual Storytelling Process
From the initial concept to the final deliverable, I construct each session as a complete visual story. I personally select the strongest images from our time together - the quiet details, intimate close-ups, and wide environmental shots that shape the true emotion of your day.
Because I deliver a finished piece of art, I do not share unedited previews or RAW files. Your private gallery is revealed only after every photograph has been meticulously hand-retouched and color-graded in my signature cinematic aesthetic.

However, when it comes to capturing once-in-a-lifetime moments that will be printed, enlarged, and deeply color-graded, technical precision is paramount. A camera sensor cannot invent shadow details or color depth that it failed to capture.
That is why I work with the Sony Alpha 7 IV paired with high-end professional Sony lenses - a setup trusted by leading photographers worldwide. This technology provides exceptional dynamic range, rich color fidelity, and the precise detail required to transform real-world moments into museum-quality visual art.
The Art of Curation: Why I Personally Select Your Final Images
Handing over unedited RAW files or passing the selection process to the client is standard practice in high-volume, budget photography. In high-end editorial and cinematic photography, however, personal curation by the artist is essential to the final outcome.
Here is why every frame in your gallery is intentionally chosen through my lens:
Seeing Beyond the Unfinished Frame: A RAW file is designed to be flat, neutral, and unpolished - it is a blank canvas, not a completed work. It takes a professional eye to recognize how a flat image will transform once enriched by custom color grading, contrast, and atmospheric depth.
Protecting Narrative and Aesthetic Harmony: True curation goes beyond choosing a flattering side. It requires a deep understanding of light, background harmony, gesture, and storytelling. A cohesive story relies on frames that work together seamlessly, rather than isolated snapshots.
The Director's Cut: Film directors do not hand hundreds of hours of raw, unedited footage to their audience and ask them to construct the movie. Cinema is created in the edit. As a cinematic photographer, I direct your shoot and curate the final cut to ensure your story unfolds with the exact emotion and rhythm it deserves.
